My 5 yr old Kindergartner is breaking down crying at school, for the simplest of upsets!

My daughter is a very outgoing, happy go lucky little girl. Just since Christmas break, she has had melt-downs at school, crying because a pencil rolled off her desk, because someone bumped her, or even because she didn't get an answer correct.
This doesn't seem normal to me, she is emotional at home, if something breaks her heart. But really overall, she is a very happy little girl.
Could lack of sleep be doing this... her bed-time hours are 8:30pm-6:50 am. She hasn't been falling asleep right away at night lately but some nights she's fine. I'm just curious if there are any suggestions, and if anyone has experienced this!

I remember when my daughter was in kindergarten she had a similar episode after break where she would not follow the line to her classroom in the morning and wander off somewhere. She even was found standing outside of the school building one morning in the winter time. She finally confessed to her teacher that she missed her mommy...brought tears to my eyes! Some children get used to being home with their parents all the time over break and having so much fun that the shock of going back to school and being away from their parents can be saddening to them. Make sure she knows that you're there if she needs you and she can always talk to you about anything. Also, maybe try to set sometime after she gets off of school for just you and her to talk and bond:) Good luck!

Christmas, christmas break, new years, thats a lot of action for a little one to take in, my son had a hard time adjusting back to school. Just remain consistent with her!

She maybe tried. Mine are 5 and 6 they go to bed at 7pm. Of course they are not asleep most nights until 7:30 or 8. They are both up at 6:15 to get ready for school that starts at 7:40. To if you just got off Christmas she has to get back into routine of going to bed and getting up for school.
