She's becoming the know-it-all-mouthy-I-think-I-rule-the-world-diva everyone of us teenage girls were at some point... but she's EIGHT!!! I know I put my mother through hell, and I really think I need to break my foot off in her bottom early, and ideas on what to do to curb the sassy/diva attitude? Maybe something that will help humble her as well???

I would also pay attention to what she is watching. I have noticed that a lot of kids programs have sassy, mouthy divas in them.

First, a quick note on child development - on average, starting at age 7, children enter the "concrete stage" - translation: EVERYTHING is black & white, no exceptions. For example, if you say you're going to serve ice cream at 8:30 before bed, and it's 8:45 (maybe you lost track of time) you're most likely going to hear about it! Most kids do not start developing an ability to think in Abstract, which usually is around 11 years of age (that's when the gray area starts to become evident to children).

Breaking the sassy/diva attitude part - lol - conversation time. Set your guidelines and expectations, punishments and consequences - but be careful. This is where the black & white talk comes in. If you say something, be 110% sure that's what's going to happen, or arguement city, guarnteed.
