My daughter Megan has ADD. I would like to find out what supplements to give to help her concentration?

Hi Nalene,
My son has ADD and I have investigated the supplements route. We do not medicate. I have had some people say (and anecdotally) recommend cod liver oil. We have not personally tried it. The one thing that I have found that helps is physical activity. My son joined the swim team this year and it helped academically and socially. I have an acquaintance whose son has the most extreme case of ADD I have ever seen (I have been an educator for 25 years). They use medication, but say that if they did not have him doing physical activity, they notice a big difference in his behavior. They have their son in a running club at school and also swimming. Their child is going into the 3rd grade. I have another co-worker with the same issue. He has his child running cross country. I recently read an article on Michael Phelps where his mother stated that he has significant ADD, and while that has been a problem in many areas, it has helped him focus on his swimming. I did not know that intense focus could be a silver lining to ADD, but I am finding that it is. You just have to find the right activity/physical activity.
Good luck and keep the faith.
