My son has ADHD and we are having trouble studying.

My son is in the fourth grade this year and has to pass the leap test. He has ADHD and has trouble studying. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make it fun or at least so uneventful I would appreciate the help. He is on medication to control the ADHD.

the best thing that i do, is keep working at it. My son needs a ton of repetition, and until I know he gets it we just keep working at the problem from another angle. ie. spelling- if he can't remember orally, we write it, if he can't do that we use magnetic letters, if he can't do that we use paint. The odd thing is, each word is different, sometimes he just gets it, sometimes it takes letters, writing it whatever. Just don't push and try not to frustrate yourself. Sometimes I have to give him something to do on his own because if I have to say spell "dog" one more time i'll lose it. Just try different ways to learn- hands on, try a teachers store for games, even educational video games, sneak it in where ever you can. Computer learning games work great for the gamer type kids. Find one he likes, let him have unending use of it. Hope some of this helps. Good luck.

If he's on the right medication, studying shouldn't be an issue. Check with your doctor.
