I only keep healthy snacks in reach of the kids. I hide the good stuff, lol. I put fruit and milk right on the table so when they get off the bus, it's right there. Going in the fridge won't do them any good, there is nothing sweet in there. Good luck

I have 2 school aged kids who always have a snack when they come home. However, they have to have a healthy snack like a fruit or a veggie, not junk food or sweets. Sometimes they try to argue but my response is if they don't like it that too bad, they can't possibly be too hungry then. Rules are rules and if they break a house rule there should be a consequence. No tv or video games works for my kids.

6 year olds are growing boys! they eat lots...maybe put some afternoon tea out for him when he gets home and tell him that is all he can have. If you see him going to the fridge when he's not whatever it is you do to discipline him (no tv, send him to his room etc) be strong and firm, let him know you mean business

Failing could always get a padlock!! LOL good luck
