My son's friend is being mean with him

I caught one of my son's "best friends" telling him nasty things on the Skype chat. My son was asking him something about a video game and his friend replayed that he hadn't played that in ages bc was a game for little kids, and snapped saying: "so f****off" . My son is 10 and he's very kind and really a good friend. He was upset but he didn't mention anything to me until I saw the chat. We talked about it and after some time my son replayed to his friend on the chat that he felt hurt by the way he was talking to him. And asked him not to use that language. Should I mention this behavior to my son's teacher? What do u think about this? What should and shouldn't do about this?

I think that your son handled it admirably.

For your part, keep an eye on interactions between the two, but if your son is handling it in a mature fashion, (which he is) then let him go. If he decides not to keep this friend, you already know why, and can support him in that decision
