My daughter has encopresis ( bowl problems) well the children and staff are making fun of my child. Making remarks like eeww it smells in here I bet Its.... (my girl), that's so gross. Well I made it perfectly clear to the principal today that I will not be sending my child back to the school for 3rd grade. what gives these Aholes the right to think its acceptable to laugh at a child with a medical condition and the teachers do nothing about it. im so very upset and bc of her medical problem I know for sure she is getting bullied for it. its not fair to her to go to school im so annoyed and frustrated, thinking about calling her off everyday until school is over. grrr really upset. anyone else have problems like this??

So you should home school your child and look into more medical options. I don't know what that is, but kids are mean and don't understand anything. She needs to go to school. You need to be firm about it. Go to the superintendent. Tell them you'll report that the school encourages bullying to the news outlets if they don't stop.

Daniella, you need to seek legal counsel immediately. If your child is in public school, she has the right to a safe environment at school free from scrutiny or discrimination for a condition she has no control over. If the teacher and the principal are not helping you or protecting her, they are not upholding their end of the bargain. Infact in many states, if you choose to send her to a private school that you feel would better meet her special needs, the public school district would be required to pay the tuition for that school since they neglected to meet her needs. You have to be the advocate for your daughter and do what you feel would be best.
