This is something I have always wanted to do. Now I need to find the time . . . oh yeah and a lot of cash as I have heard this can get expensive! :)

Oh, yeah I forgot to reply about the cost: It can get expensive IF you let it. All of the hobby/craft stores have a 40 or 50% off coupon at least 2 times a month. Jo-Ann's has a sale flyer you can sign up for. Michael's does it online as well. I typically use my coupon each week for a scrapbook item, and not always for a big thing. I often use it just for my $4 adhesive. Target and Michael's have $1 sections in their stores and they usually have scrapbook items in there. Watch at Wal MArt, as at holiday times, they stock scrappin items for that holiday. Usually in special displays on the endcaps of their craft aisles. Most of it is .88 cents up to 2.88. Good luck!

If you JUST look at it as a hobby, you may never get into it, as you will find other things that take up your time. If you realize that this is preserving your families history for generations to come, then it becomes more imortant to take the time to document and put in order your families photos and written memories.

I have 1 sister, my mom, 1 sis-in-law, 2 aunts and several cousins who all scrapbook, as well as some people at church. We are currently trying to have a crop 1 Sat. each month. Someone hosts it and we all help provide lunch, the host provides a couple of prizes, then we do a drawing for them and then one for whomever comletes the most pages. We have lots of fun! You get inspired form seeing what others are doing as well!

A couple of questions? Do you take pictures? Why? Is it bc you want to capture the moment or the memory? If so then the time and the money you can make a priority (even though sometimes you just have to do a little at the time like I did). Find a group that does monthly CROPs or workshops. Having the time set aside for you, really makes you do it rather than trying to do it on your own. Plus it is more fun when you do it with friends/others and can glean others' ideas and maybe borrow their tools.

I HIGHLY recommend this HOBBY (if you will). The rewards are monumental!!!
