Before my daughter was born my son's book was always within a few months of being caught up... my son has 7 books through his 4th birthday... I continued to work on his stuff & try to keep it up for a while after she was born when he was 3.5... now my daughter has a book & tons of beautiful paper & stickers (pink & purple galore), but it's still in the package... I need to find some motivation to get a bunch of her pics printed & get going... Anyone have anything motivating to say? :D I think I need to set up a scrapbooking station somewhere in the house offlimits to the kids... anyone done that? Or do most of you find that the scrap nights & get aways are the best way to get stuff done? I can't do the retreats for the most part because of breastfeeding, but I could get in tune with some of those friday nights...

Hi! Joining a scrapbooking group at your local craft store is a great way to get motivated and make new friends at the same time. Also there will be times you just dont have the time to scrapbook. I kept a journal and wrote down things that happened so I wouldn't forget and could include in my daughters' scrapbooks. I also have a wonderful mother who would take my children at least once a week and sometimes more to give me alone time to work on scrapbooks without interuption. Happy scrapbooking :)

Hi! I'm new to this Circle but I'm an avid scrapbooker! I have 2 boys. I started when my first was only a few months old and I have kept current ever since then. We have a group that gets together every month and scrap the night away. Without those nights, I would definately be behind! So i would suggest find a group in your area that you can get together and scrapbook with. Or find a local scrapbooking store that offers crop nights that you can go to once a month. You will find yourself caught up in no time! Oh yeah- I also have my own scrapbooking room in my house but it has pretty much turned into a scrapbooking storage room where I just roll my tote bags into and pull out the next month! :)

Definitely set up a station in your house if you have the space! If you are really serious about it, there is a really cool table that was in Scrapbook Ect a couple months ago that you can order online (only) from Target.com. They were having a free shipping promotion on that particular table. The price varies according to color but check it out! (The name of the product is the Madison Trestle Desk.)

Check out some website for ideas like www.mycmsite.com/lorih - project center. I find that motivating. Also if you have a space you can set up it definately makes it easier to be organized. Once organized you can sit for half an hour or 4 hours and do something on your albums. Good luck. Now get off facebook and go scrapbook :)

I usually do nights with friends, which really gets me motivated. I also have most of my stuff in a cabinet in the kitchen...no room yet:) so if the boys are being good and playing with their toys and stuff (which rarely happens:), I get it out and do a page or two. I have all my pics organized by date, so I just grab the first set out of the pile and start. I'm behind, but it's fun to go back and look at what we did last year. Slowly, I"m getting caught up.
