Has anyone given their child gerber mini fruits or gerber yogurt melts? If so, how old were they when you first gave it to them?

Be careful of the added sugar and preservatives in any store bought baby foods. Fresh fruit is always better...it's easy to cut up a banana or a peach for your baby and it can even save you some money. Gerber makes many snack/foods for babies that are actually very bad for babies. Why would a baby need something with added sugar and preservatives? I get so frustrated that these companies are even making that kind of stuff. Sorry, I got carried away there. I was just going to suggest to read labels first!

I did yogurt melts at 6 months of age, but my son doesn't like them. I tried the mini fruits at 8 months and he loves them. He also likes the crackers and puffs. They dissolve fast, if your baby can do teething biscuits, then don't worry about it.

My daughter loves the yogurt melts, but I started her on other easier foods first.

I try not to give any of those types of things, because they are loaded with sugar and preservatives. I'd just dice some fruit really small, coat it in cheerio dust if you need to. And most fresh fruits can be frozen.

I just started my September baby on the yogurt melts... I have found that they are too large and can be a choking hazard... I have to cut them in half in order for her to eat them, and even then they still seem too large for as beginning eater... I have not done the mini fruits... I am one of those that worries about preservatives, and I would rather just give pieces of ripe fruit...
