My son is 10 and a half months and still has no teeth. I think they are coming though because when I nurse him he likes to bite me. He eats second foods and some table foods but he hates 3rd foods. When I give them to him he spits them back out at me.

My girlfriends son just got his first tooth at 15 months! Our son who is 10months has 8 teeth!!! Each kid is sooo different. I would not worry about it all. I started stage 2 foods about at 6months. They say to start them on stage 3 foods at about 8months, however Nick did not like stage 3 foods at all, so he went right to solids and some stage 2 food still. I don't like he liked the lumpy texture of stage 3 foods.

Belle is on table foods and just started cutting her first tooth. My friend's lil' girl didnt get her first teeth till after her first birthday. So the baby can definitely gum their food to death just watch to make sure they don't shove too much at once!!

I wouldn't worry about the teeth they will come in when they come in. My daughter is turning 10 months old in a couple of days and she has eight teeth working on more. I cant get her to drink out of cups, and she chews off the nipples of her bottle. She started and stage 2 around 6 months old. We started her on stage three a month ago. Then she decided she was no longer going to eat any thing that wasn't out of the bottle. We just got her eating again. She will olny eat table food. We cut it up real sm. As for choking the Dr. told us it was ok. It is how they learn, but to watch her close. When it comes to formula she has never taken more than 5 oz at a time.

Babies don't need teeth for Stage 2 food - they make good use of those gums!

My eldest child didn't get her first tooth till she was 13 months!

Our 10mo. old finally got his first tooth at 9months, 3weeks. It's still the only one in - but the other middle teeth will be through soon. He gagged on anything other than stage 2 foods until about the same time he got his first tooth. We still cannot feed him any of the stage 3 foods that are lumpy - usually gags, but also doesn't seem to like the taste. We still deal with the high sensitivity to gagging when introducing new foods - have to be cautious. Our first successful solid was tiny bits of very soft bread. Now he eats cut pieces of string cheese, bread, soft cooked carrots, potatoes, green beans, and small bits of bananas. Be patient - it will come. This is our third child, and took by far the longest to move from strained foods to solids and to get teeth. Each child is unique!

Our youngest baby got her first tooth when she was six months old. We started her on stage two when she was seven months old. Try not to worry, every baby is very different. We have two older daughters and they both started things at different times. Enjoy your baby! :)

My daughter started 2nd stage round 5 months, she started the first at 3 months cause she seemed to be hungry 24/7. And she is now on 3rd stage though she doesn't eat it that often. She will be 10 months tomorrow and has no teeth, but she can feed herself sum. She eats the Gerber puffs and Yogurt treats. And she also wants nothing to do with a sippy cup except to play with it and she does not like juice either!!!

My son is 10 months now and has been eating real food since right before 9 months. He only eats simple foods, because he doesn't have any teeth either; however, he does somehow manage to chew with just his gums. I have caught him many times with hard food in his mouth that he has managed to chew. I know many babies that cannot chew without teeth, so I would just be careful. I did try stage 2 right before I started giving him real food, and it isn't that chunky. It is really just a little thicker than stage one. You baby should be fine on stage 2, it is stage 3 that I would be more leery on, since there are noticable chunks in that stage.

My sweetie started on stage 2 foods around 6 months. She got her first two teeth around 4 1/2 months. She now has 6 teeth-3 on bottom, 3 on the top. She has been crawling since about 5 1/2 months, and she is walking now. It seems like she's moving too fast...and our family keeps saying she's moving out of the way for the next one. But she won't eat baby food now. She likes to eat what we eat and feed herself. Your little one will get *teeth* soon. :) Don't fret about it.

I had my daughter play with the empty cup for a while, she bang it, licked it, tossed it on the floor. I then started putting a little water in it and putting it to her mouth, I did this for maybe a week then I put a teaspoon full of water and gave it to her without the cover and she started putting it to her mouth trying to drink. after a week I put the cover on and gave it to her. Now she drinks water or juice form the cup.

My boy has three teeth, and has been stage two since 6 months, but he doesn't like the jarred stage two foods very much (too many solid chunks) I've had better luck with making my own. Sometimes I just mix in some rice to add texture. He doesn't drink water or juice yet, though, the doctor said he doesn't need to yet.

my little boy(9.5 mos) still has no teeth either but they are right up there so I tink it will be days away. he is also off of baby food. he doesn't like it so he gets fresh fruit cubes, toasts and other table foods. since the lack of teeth I make surei t's small pieces so he doesn't choke. but the way he eats, you'd think he had a whole mouth full of teeth. my older two boys both had 6 teeth by 7 months and had 10 by a year.

We had the same problem with sippy cups. We finally found one that my daughter would take. It is the one that the nipple is similar to a bottle and soft. If you haven't tried it try that one. Hope this helps

My daughter is almost 10 months and not the first tooth! It can be up to a year before they get teeth and supposedly they are supposed to have good straight teeth if they come in later. So maybe our babies won't have any dental problems! lol

My son was on stage 2 foods around 5-1/2 months. He popped his first 2 teeth at the same time at 7 months. I wouldn't worry about your little one not having teeth yet, they will come in, and it's best that babies get them later. The earlier babies pop a tooth the more likely they'll have dental problems. :P
