Oh yea I have to cut the nipple on the bottle also to make sure he gets it out with the rice in it.

My baby spits up so when he was in the NICU (he was 6 weeks early) the nurses put rice in his formula in his bottle, so now he is at 4 oz of formula and I do 50 ml of rice, you could try that, it might make his get a little more full.

Both my children had Acid Reflux and I gave both rice cereal and both are fine! Listen to your doc and your own instinct!

My mom fed me cereal very early on and I have no allergies and no digestive issues. She keeps trying to get me to start Ian on cereal. He's only 2 months and I'm waiting until 4 months unless the doctor tells me tomorrow I can start early.

experts say if a baby is given solids before 4months they will be ill as children with lots of dijestive problems and allergys but my mum fed me on solids as i was a hungry baby at 8weeks my son is also a hungry baby he's on aptimil hungry baby formula 7oz every 4hours and a little baby rice with his evening feed i find he's happier now plus he's started to sleep through the night as his belly stays full for longer your son would let you know if he's not ready so just keep doing what your doing i just wouldn't introduce any other foods till hes atleast 4 months so he can get the hang of eating before he has any other new tastes

Everyone has their own way... Listen to your doctor or not. My son eats cereal out of his bottle.. Yes there is diseases out there and they can get them from eating cereal at an earily age but look it up and see what the chances are of that happening.. Some doctors and nurses say wait for 4 to 6 months to start feeding your baby cereal but every baby is different. What you are doing is fine, everyone has different ways of raising there children so if you feel that it is right then go for it. But also talk to your son's doctor and make sure that there isnt anything wrong with him, not to scare you or anything.

My pediatrician suggested at the 2 month appointment adding rice cereal to my baby's formula at night to help get him get through the night. He said normally they suggest 4 months but he went ahead and gave me the go ahead if needed before his 4 month appointment, just for the last feed at night. He also so said it may be constipating so watch for that. I haven't done it yet because we have been out of town for the past week, but look forward to giving it a shot when we get home.

This can lead to Celiac disease... I would speak with a pediatrician or nurse practitioner. He might be going through growth spurts, which will pass.

I would say ask the doctor as well. I was told by my doctor to wait until they are about 3 or 4 months old before offering cereal in their bottles. But I am a new mom so I'm not sure of all the do's and don'ts. I would think it depends on the situation. I would ask the doctor though.

My 7 week old is just the same... talk to your doctor.. mine had me put the cereal in his bottle and also switched him to soy formula. Your son might be lactose interallent(sp). That is where milk isnt doin him any good and its not filling him. So def. talk to your doctor and see what he has to say about it... It's not wrong to feed your baby rice cereal just not off of the spoon yet....

my daughter is almost 10 weeks and she has been getting rice cereal with a spoon for almost 2 or 3 weeks now. she loves it. she only gets it in the morning and at night. she sleeps alot longer a night. I know the drs say to wait until 4 months, but sometimes it doesnt work that way.

My boy is almost 7 weeks and he eats 4 and 1/2 oz every 2 hours...so I assume its normal they eat that much. My cousin has a 5 n 1/2 mo old and she only eats 3 ozs every 3 hours or so. But my mother in law fed my husband and his brother cereal when they were two weeks old and they turned out normal..kinda :)

My 2 month old baby seems to want to feed every 1 and a half hours but i've just figured out he's tired not hungry. I agree with Sarah and Crystal that there are reasons for not giving babies solids before 4 months. Babies should feed have a minimum of 2 hours between feeds and formula babies usually longer. Seek advice from your doctor or a child health nurse. All the best.

I would ask your doctor about the cereal. At one of my prenatal classes the nurses said giving babies cereal before 4 months puts extra stress on their organs which are still maturing.

You should def ask your doctor about this if you all ready haven't b/c there is a reason they say 4 months for cereal. Its because a baby's digestive system is still developing and feeding them cereal early can cause problems. And Melissa is right. If you are going to feed your baby cereal feed him with a spoon.

My baby is 9 weeks old as well...she drinks 4 oz every three hours. She would eat sooner if I let her not because shes hungry but because she wakes up and automatically think she needs to eat.

I would suggest trying a nipple with a slower flow and during the day see if you can make him wait a little longer to eat. Try 2 hours at first, that way if 4 oz really isn't enough for him he will eat more at each sitting and then gradually enlongate the time between feedings, increasing the amount of formula you feed your baby. 4 oz every 1 1/2 hours is a lot. He might not be hungry every 1 1/2 hours but he may be getting tummy aches after eating and it just seems like he is hungry. This happend with my first...and I just kept feeding him. If I were you I would ask my doctor about this whole situation.

if he eats it then its all right. my son started eating it at 1 mo. he liked it better in his bottle because i didn't feed him fast enough. As long as he doesn't get constipated it is alright. Once a day he shouldn't get constipated, but if he does try it every other day or some other spacing.
