I am trying to get my daughter to use a sippy cup when she has baby food. She doesn't seem to be able to grasp the concept of it. I have tried 2 different ones (an avent and a gerber one) and she doesn't understand how to use it. Any tips? Which ones do you prefer?

I've been trying ro get my son to sip water while eating too, and the most success we have had is with a short water glass. I've tried avent, nuby, and a couple others and think the cups with a soft spout are definitely better, but he just prefers a glass.

Same here-Nuby brand. I am breastfeeding and my daughter refuses to take a bottle.. she just chews on them (teething) and gets water all over herself. With the Nuby sippy, they don't leak all over her if she drops it or just wants to play with it.. but she does get soaked if she decides to use the spout as a teether. She's learning pretty swiftly that sucking on it is good too though, LoL

I use NUBY also...and my baby is catching on quickly. The spout is nice because she can bite it and get a drink...and she's learning to suck on it, too. :0) Try NUBY.

I like the Nuby ones, they aren't expensive and the spout is really soft.  It also has a different design, if the baby chews on it, they get something.  My son doesn't like the gerber ones.
