I'm due on September 21, 2013 and living in Beaufort, SC. My husband works out of town a lot so I am looking for support when he's away. This is my second child. I go for an anatomical ultrasound on 5/7/13. Can't wait! I'm having what can only be considered as hormonal ups and downs that bring on fits of crying and feeling alone. Any suggestions for riding the hormone wave and dealing with these alone times? I thought joining a community woud be helpful.

First off, Congrats on the pregnancy! Secondly, I myself am on my 2nd pregnancy (I have a 2 year old son) and I am due September 22nd (its a girl!) I understand how lonesome one can feel during a pregnancy, my hubby works a lot too (he works two jobs). I often feel like I am going through this pregnancy by myself cause whenever it comes to my ultrasound and doctor appointments, he tends to wait in the waiting room with our son. I understand and sympathize completely about experiencing emotional highs and lows while pregnant and the best advice I could give is to first find other women or mommies that you can have "pregnant mommy and me" days. If that doesn't work find a hobby (I like to scrapbook or do arts & crafts) or fun activities that you and your firstborn can enjoy together, it can heedas a great distraction from any gloomy thoughts or lonely feelings. If you ever feel like you're lacking in the finding other mommy buddies in your situation, I would be more than happy to offer my friendship. :)

Thanks so much for responding. The loneliness is definitely still there, but I'm coping. I found out I was feeling so bad because I needed an emergency gall bladder surgery and they took care of it a few days ago. I'm a teacher so in a few weeks I hope to find other moms to bond with over the summer.

I can do empathize when you say that sometimes you feel like this going through this pregnancy alone.

Congratulations on your girl! This is my second boy and my husband already has a boy as well.

Would definitely like to enjoy time with my first-born. Well be really busy by September.
