The cute things they do as a result of learning to sign language!

I thought it might be fun to share some of the adorable things parents of signing babies witness. I will start with something that my daughter has been doing this week.

When my daughter, Josie learned the sign for 'thank you' she confused it with blowing kisses. So, when she would express thank you it was by putting her hand up to her mouth and blowing kisses. This week she started to abbreviate her thank yous by just kissing in the air, so adorable!

my favorite is when my daughter was learning change she would get confused with more and change and ask for a change at the table and ask for more when she was getting changed. I also love when she signs please, she smiles a big cheesy smile and then rub her belly and say ppppeeeesssee

My 2 year old, Sailor came to me and pointed to her leg and then signed "asleep" to inform me that her leg feel asleep while she was sitting on it and eating lunch. Now that she talks more, she tells me that her leg or foot is "night night".

My girl woke up in the middle of the night which is unusual. As soon as I picked her up she started saying (with words) More, more, more, more, and signing as fast as she could, everything she could think of: daddy, dog, down, food, bath, help, diaper, bear. It was so funny to watch her little delirious self trying to get out (and stay out) of bed in the middle of the night.

My husband was watching football today, and I have not been feeling well so I was laying on the couch resting. Jonah was playing on the floor of the living room. We have a projector screen that hubby watches his sports on, and Jonah has been interested in it lately. Today they showed the band playing at the football game, and Jonah just loved it! He stopped playing and turned to see the screen, and he saw the people dancing and clapping so he started to dance and clap also. Then when the band was done he got REALLY mad. I said "What's wrong?" and he did the sign "more" he wanted the band to play again! LOL I can't say I disagreed with him, I like the band part better than the football part too!

My son is thirteen months, and his signing is just starting to really take off

We signed with my now 3 year old daughter from almost the start. Now she's talking up a storm and no longer uses signs - but it's so cute to catch her signing things without even realizing it to her 1 year old brother. The sweetest one was once she accidentally bumped him (I think he was only 6 months old or so) and signed 'sorry'.

I think it's adorable to watch them run through a few signs they know before they choose the one they meant to use... ball, I mean book, no I mean baby!

So sweet! Along that line, my daughter has been working really hard on mastering the "I love you" sign. She's tried for several months and then one day it clicked as we were saying goodnight to daddy and now she will spontaneously sign/say it through out the day to us, complete with the sweetest, biggest grin (see my profile pic)! :)

It just melts my heart!
