It is only $75 per child in MA.....and the father has to accept of deny. Unless of COURSE YOU DON't KNOW WHERE HE LIVES!! Then you are scott FREE!

if you are in the state of GA you have to have him sign away his rights but in order to do that someone (and can't be you) has to accept the rights. So if you are remarried or something your husband can "adopt" the child if the birth father signs his rights away. Some other states don't require this so you will have to check.

In the UK you can't take it off. You cab get him to write a letter to oficially say he gives up his parental rights but you may have to go to court over it. My daughter's dad has just decided he doesn't want to see her anymore, yet still has his fater's rights, doesn't exactly seem fair sometimes! X

if your in the uk u cant. only by court order and they wont be willing to do that easily, you would have to have a very good reason, infact im sure short of proving it is not the real dad you would be darn lucky.

really the only way to do this is if you ask him to give up his rights for his kid....

need more info. depends on where you live and why you want to. you'll probably need a court order to remove a parent's name.
