Potty Training Blues!

My son just turned 3 and I am having an extremely difficult time trying to potty train him. Does anyone have any advice they can lend? I've tried just putting him in underwear and timing him for trips to the bathroom but i have a 1 year old so my dedication gets distracted. i've also tried letting him wear underwear under the pullups but that doesn't work either.

Try make it more fun! A trick i was told about and yet to see if it will work like i've been told it does (my sons only 7mths old). Put a ping-pong ball in the toilet and get him to aim for it make it fun it also helps them to learn to aim. Otherwise from the toilet training of the kids i used to babysit we have Potties for them (girls or boys) and even if they dont need to go to the toilet do the usualy go to the toilet routine with thwm explaining what they need to do and that this is there own little toilet for when they feel the need to go. Also friend have found it easier putting the stairs and the little seats and training them straight on the toilet. Then they feel older because there using the 'big peoples' toilet. Usually gives them that little bit of extra confidence and your youngest might follow her brother and learn earlier as she'll have someone to watch (well until he starts standing). Hope that will be of some help to you and that its not recieved to late since you posted in febuary and it being April now! :D Goodluck
