Activities for Summer

Hi Everyone.
My name is Raeika and I have a 61/2 year old daughter. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to do for summer break. My daughter is out of school for seven weeks starting the 3rd week of June. She does not really like the park that much now that she is older. As most moms know going to the beach is fun but a hassle between towel bags, sand toys, cooler, ect ect ect. I am on a budget so I would like to do things that will not cost a lot or can be free.
Thank You.

Hi Raeika,

I would suggest you use the internet to find different children's museums, zoos and activities in your area. Most have a "free" or discount day. Or plan 7 different weekly themes. Ask your daughter to think about some things that she would like to learn more about- or things that interest her. From there choose 7 themes one for each week. And then plan a weeks worth of activities based on each theme. For example: your daughter likes cooking. plan activities that involve cooking- for instance: together you may want to plan the menu for the week and have her help you prepare each meal. Call a local restaurant and ask if your daughter can be given a tour of the kitchen. Go to the library a borrow cook books & prepare a special meal for a friend or neighbor. Look into having a real chef speak to her and dont forget to create a summer scrapbook reflecting all of your themed activities. Have fun.
