AM I ALLOWED TO GET A MONTHLY ALLOWANCE FOR HIM?

[deleted account] ( 1 mom has responded )

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

Do you have a letter from social security denying the baby money?Ask the court to define what items you can purchase with the death settlement. As his mum it is your primary responsibility to raise him in the absence of a father.
