I think I may have gotten it under control; finally. However, when I say that he usually bites the next day. Any advice on what you have done for your child to stop biting??? I have tried everything I can get my hands on so any suggestions will give me more options!

wow! i am doing that now and it works for a short period of time (i explain things to my 22 month old as well) but he bit again last night, it was his sister this time and it was hard :( I was not home when iyt happened but my babysitter did just what i do and he actually came out and said sorry to her afterwards, i am hoping this means he is realizing that he is hurting others when he does this!

I think (fingers crossed) that I have it under control for the most part. I think that part of it was the fact that he's been teething since he was 5-6 months old and it's been hard for him. What I eventually did was put him in time-out in his room away from everyone and shut the door (after telling him no and all that) and then let him throw his fit. Once he was done being a tantrum-child I would wait a minute and then go in there, explain that biting hurts and it'd not ok (yes, I explain things to my 2 year old) and that I love him and then let it go. Dwelling on it never seemed to work. He has only bit once in a month, so I'm hoping that I've got it now. It took several tries with various things, kids can really turn you upside down!

I am in the same spot with my 22 month old boy! He bites randomly, doesn't seem to be out of anger or frustration and he will bite anyone! I look after children in my home and he bites the children i look after! Usually he does not break the skin because i am usually close enough to grab him away but he has!! :( I have tried biting him back, putting him on time out and even putting pepper in his mouth but he doesn't even react! Today he bit another child on the face for the first time and i put him on time out and spoke to him, i am getting soooooooooooooo frustrated i don't know what to do!! My friends are telling me that it is just a phase he is going through and it will stop....help me!!!!!!!

Honestly?...Well when my son went through that phase my mom...bit him back...not hard mind but enough to teach him that it does hurt when you bite someone. He never did it again. I was not thrilled when she told me what she had done later but she said she did it to all 3 of us kids when we were younger and it stoped us from doing it again....not sure if this is the route you want to try but..
