I am a single mom, my daughter's dad lives in Norway. I have friends who help me pick her up from school when am getting late from work, one morning as we were preparing for school she told me one of my friends was her dad. I asked her why she thought so and she said he picks me up from school. Me and her dad we are on good terms but the last time we visited they took a picture together,so I put it in a frame and told her this is your dad. She was convinced for a few day and she started asking questions why isn't he here, why doesn't he pick me from school. I don't know how to handle the situation

How old is your daughter? Want to make sure you handle her in an age appropriate manner. Does she have any type of long-distance relationship with him? Do they talk on the phone or have any communication together at all? If not, that's probably why she's so confused...he's like a mystery person to her and not like the other dad's she sees who are involved in their kid's lives. Is there any type of plan for him to be a part of her life? My kids live several hundred miles away from their Dad but we have a visitation schedule set up so they see him throughout the year AND they are free to talk to him on the phone as much as they like. They are 10 and 13 years old. Hope this helps!!
