Well it depends if your little grand daughter has any teeth yet, if her teeth havn't come through yet, the choice is fairly limited but heres a list of a few ideas for you:

Soft cream cheese

Finely grated cheese

Tuna blended with mayo, or cream cheese (check the tuna is good quality, and mayo sutiable for babies)

Egg (hard boiled only, finely chopped/grated and mixed with mayo, creme cheese a little nat youg. to give it a good consistency)

hope some of these ideas have helped. You can also look at sandwich fillings sold in tubs in most supermarkets for ideas or to use, but would recommend u check the salt content etc first.

most will reply an 8month shouldnt eat sandwiches but if she is like my kids she wants food, my kids fav sandwhices at that age were cream cheese,

i bought a feeder from toys r us that let me feed my lil one anything and everything, even bits of frozen fruit on hot summer days, never had to worry about her chocking,

here is a link to wat it looks like, http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp...
