How can I help my 3 year old son control his emotions?

I've been told by the facilitators at his daycare that he has a hard time controlling his emotions when he's frustrated. I just want to know if there's something I can do to help him. Thanks!

Hi Aya. I was hoping to help with some suggestions I found on line for this same thing. First, the daycare should be telling you what is frustrating him such as sharing or cooperating or not wanting to listen. See if they can give you some detail as to what they think is setting himoff. Then use reward charts. They have free ones you can download all over the internet. Use the target behavior as the goal. Say if he was having problems sharing that would be your target. Give it to the daycare and tell your son that every time he does what he is supposed to do he will get a space filled in on the chart. Once the chart is full he is rewarded with a treat. This works in my home for most things but the key is to be consistant. Good luck!!
