I started putting my son on the potty every 20 min and keeping him out of diapers. He would have a couple of accidents. Then I would do it every 40 min --- he would go almost every time. That took about 2 weeks and now he tells me when he has to fo to the bathroom and has had only 1 accident. It also helps it you have a kitchen timer that you set for the amount of time, that way the child and you can hear it and they then know it is time to go to the bathroom---- and when they actually go they can have a sticker, or 2 if they go # 2! It sounds like a lot of work, but it worked fast and easy!

I agree with the last comment. My son was 3 when we finally worked this out. It was an accident that it even happened, but here's the story. I went to help a friend move something, and took my son with me. He went to the bathroom in his pants while we were there, but since we weren't going to be there long, I hadn't brought any extra clothes. He had to go home without pants on, which meant walking outside, riding in the car without pants and walking in front of the neighbors (and their children) without any pants. He was actually embarassed and I kept stressing the reason he didn't have pants on was because he pottied in them. He never did it again. Be patient, it will work itself out.

Is he in daycare? Daycare helped a lot w/ me. if not, the biggest thing is to not force him 2 sit there until he goes b/c they will look at that as a form or punishment.
