I'm looking for ways to help reinforce to my 13-year-old boy that he's a great kid just as he is. What worked for you?

I used to leave notes under my sons pillow telling him how important he was to me, extra priveliges, extra hugs and praise are what I used.  Impromptu gatherings arranged with his friends as a surprise is nice. I would say "Hey why dont you have_________ over this weekend?"He would respond"why" I would answer "because you're you!" Its different with each child. So reward him with things he might enjoy and tell him often how proud you are of his accomplishments!

hope I've helped, its hard being a single parent
