i have to agree with the other mums that as long as she is sleeping at night I wouldnt worry but on the other hand if sleep is all over the place then its a matter of routine. She may be an active baby and not want to sleep. though if you need a break just pop her in bed and have a break. Crying doesnt hurt.

As long as she is sleeping good at night I wouldn't worry. My son was almost one before he started taking an afternoon nap. Now when he does nap it's ony about an hour. But he sleeps a good 10 - 11 hours at night. Doctors tell me as long as he is getting the average amount it doesn't matter how or when.

With my daughter she only sleeps in a darkened quite room with zero activity. She LOVES her pacifier ( much to my dismay) She loves her mobile/sound machine, and if she is not ready to sleep yet I have a few dolls or stuffed animals in her crib that she plays with. I find that she sleeps best after a meal (who dosen't) and is eager to lay down.

Does she sleep at night? I rarely took naps when I was growing up. If you need rest and that's why you would like her to nap then I would suggest giving her a "baby exercise" and then a lavender bath. Does she fall asleep in the car? Maybe a car ride in the afternoon would help as well :)

As long as she is sleeping good through the night don't worry about it. 6 months is a little young to not take naps my daughter was 1 when she ended the naps. How is her night sleeping?
