my son is almost 12 months old, he is very active and needs to be kept entertained all day, I have ran out of activities to do with him and for him to do on his own. I have looked on websites and through all my childcare programing books. Any ideas

Thats a great idea, the only thing that I have encouraged with things that I use is the telephone and have only just started showing him the broom. Will try that because he loves contact.

I never thought of painting in the bath, I have tried painting with him outsie and it was really messy.

My son gets bored very easily to and I ran out of things to do for a little while. I was told to let him roam around and decide what he wanted to do and to start inculding him in stuff that I do. He helps me sweep, I give him the comb and he'll mess up my hair for me, stuff like that sometimes if he's really bored and we cant get outside I'll give him the converter and we'll channel surf. For my son its mostly about stuff he sees other people do. Theres always songs and crafts and floor play and toys its just you have to find a way to switch it up so it seems new. best of luck until it starts to warm up, being able to go play outside makes such a huge difference :)

When my daughter was that age she loved to finger paint.  I would let her finger paint in the tub!  She loved it and I could just wash everything off (including her) afterwards!

he loves water play, loves sand, playdough being out side, everything that he has shown an interest in I have encouraged. He mostly likes being outside.
