My son keeps getting out of the house when noone's looking. He gets a chair under the door and opens the lock. He's pretty ingenious about getting out? What do I do? Is he unhappy?

I'm gonna try the 'out of reach' type lock. That should work. The alarm may not work cos he'd probably open to door just to set it off and laugh when the noise starts(lol). Thank you guys.

My uncle had the same problam with his daughter. He had to get a alarm for the door. She set it off twice, after that she didn't try anymore. Hope this helps.

He probably just feels independent doing it and wants to get outside to play or to go exploring. I put a chain up high on our door when my kids were smaller so they couldn't go out without asking.

How old is he? My son would do it to if allowed. Its getting spring and the kids are wanting to go out to play. If he is 2 or 3 its in their nature, they are learning new things. Just put child safty things on the doors and he wont be able to turn the handles.
