Gavin will be 2 in May and I want to start potty training but I have never had to train a boy before. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Well, my son will be three next month and he is still not potty trained I have tried and tried but what everybody tells me is not to push them to do it that they will do it on their own. But I am not sure when that is supposed to be!

I am still going thru it now.  My son is 3 1/2.  Whewww it is a battle he started sitting at first then I showed him how to stand up for P and sit down for B.  I think by him going to daycare seeing other little boys go has helped some.  He is a lot better now but I was warned that boys take awhile to train opposed to girls.  Have a lot of patience and learn to use things like cheerios as target practice in the commode once he gets to the point he is standing to P.

I know just how you feel I ended up traing at first for him to be sitting because i wasn't sure how to explain the whole hold it and shake thing without the visual. I was lucky my dad helped me out on the standing up part. and a stool will be needed! lol. sitting even if he is a boy is better than diapers. I know this didn't help must but I just had to laugh at the memories it brought back to me of my same frustration! Good luck.
