As alot of you know I am a single parent of a beautiful 4 year old girl. She is a social butterfly and loves being around people. Unfortunately, she can have a very bad temper and screams and yells at me and is starting to like to tell me "no or i don't want to." She is even starting to do it when we are around other people so much so that she cries and throws fits. What can I do to keep myself calm and be a good mother to my daughter as well, and help her know and realize that her behavior is inappropriate???

Ok, thank you I appreciate that. What do you suggest if we are in someone else's house? Do I still just leave even if she is kicking and screaming and hurting me in the process. Cause yes, even though I'm 26 yrs old, I have had a bad back since I was 4 yrs old, and she is really strong already. She likes to throw herself back when she throws her fits and it almost kills me. I do appreciate your suggestion and comment. Thank you

If you are out in public pick her up calmly and immediately, tell the people you are with "sorry" put her in the car with no discussion and go home. Everytime. No bribes, no pleading, no long explanations. Put her in her room and tell her she can come out when she is calm. The same rule applies at home, except at home you simply walk away and give her no attention what so ever, if she persists she goes to her room.
