Vicki, Unfortunatly it is an excuse for the father not to pay until the courts tell him. Keep your chin up. be proavtice and follow the system thru. Here In California they do search and try and find and keep you in formed. after 9 months I was told the father couldn't be found. If I hear of anything to let them know.

remember the squeeky wheel get's the grease. so they say. Good luck.

Hello! I live in Washington State and I have to say that this state does not play around. There is a special Enforcement division that deals with these deadbeat dads. I am a Paralegal and can honestly say that while I acknowledge court systems being delayed, your case should not be put aside for that long. Be as active as you possibly can. Check and see if there is any free legal support available to help guide you in getting this done!!

i live in mass....you need to file a support order with the courts and get a hearing...there is a mandated amount based on his income ect.....I'm not sure why you haven't heard anything yet because they usually move pretty quick (like a couple of weeks) when in comes to support for children.....I would go back and refile.....if you go to any of the court websites they have all the info to file ect...I went through Plymouth court which has an advocate as well as a free lawyer of the day to help you....I think all the courts have one, just ask.....

i live in mass, but i have called my worker like 5 million times andd she never calls me back. And i have asked him for money but he says that he dosent want to give me any because the courts wont see that hes given me anything even if he keeps the all the transaction things.

what state are you in??

well, here in wisconsin, the child support system sucks. First of all, you have to get on them.. call them and ask them what the problem is. Second of all, have you asked him for some money??? No matter what, he should be helping you, court or no court. It really shouldnt be taking that long. I filled out my paperwork, and in 2 months, i had a court date. I am also low income.. so i dont know if that had anything to do with it. CALL them and figure out whats going on. Thats my suggestion.

I think it depends where you are from but I would check back with the court. A year is tooo long. The response from them is fast then the actual process of getting visitation and or child support in place.
