What should I purchase now to stock up?

I am a very organized person and also going at this alone. I want to start stacking up on things he will need but I don't want to wait until my shower for people to purchase it for me. What is okay to start buying now?

Wipes for sure! I wouldn't stock up on diapers quite yet because you never know how fast your little will grow. Maybe buy a box of newborns and size 1 though. I know with my son, he was in size 5 diapers by 5 months old and I had way TOO many newborn and size 1 diapers that I didn't need. You can always pass them along though. Some other things...tissues, wash clothes, burpy clothes. If you plan to breastfeed, I would really look into a nice pump. That's defnitely a necessity if you plan to breastfeed and you have to go back to work or be away from baby.

Good luck and Congratulations!

I agree with Elisa. Diapers and wipes! But like she was saying they tend to grow out of the newborn diapers quite fast so maybe buy a couple packs of larger sizes too. I had a small thing of formula too and I didn't plan on giving him any until 3 months but my son was on me constintly-every 20 minutes...so I had no choice but to give him some beacuse I needed the break! OH and here is the big one-nursing pads if you are planning on breast feeding! Nothin is worse than running out of nursing pads and leaking and having to rush to a store with wet spots! lol Congrats and good luck, it really is a beautiful thing!

Wipes, Diapers, and bottles for sure. And formula if you don't plan to breastfeed. You can NEVER have enough wipes and bottles. But don't buy all newborn size diapers as they really aren't in them that long (my daughter was in them about 3.5 weeks) bottles you will lose or leave somewhere so dont be afraid to buy a few yourself even if guests are getting them for you! GOOD LUCK!!!

*ok, I'm gonna tell you the gross thing that a lot of moms don't find out till they give birth. Buy a lot of pads. Really absorbent pads. You are going to bleed for a couple weeks to a month and you do not want to run out of pads. I liked the always brand that comes in the green package. they're really thin but they hold a lot so you're safe to use them at night, too.
*and nursing pads for sure. Whether you plan to breastfeed or not (but breast is best! and it's a lot lot cheaper and easier than formula) your breasts are going to fill with milk.
*one of those mesh bathing chairs that looks like a small version of a bouncy chair.
*if you're not already a member, I recommend joining costco. I used every diaper brand out there and the costco brand is 2nd only to pampers cruisers, but cheaper. I used the cruisers (which they also sell) while my babies were in crawling stage and costco the rest of the time. they also have good wipes. like the other moms said, don't buy many newborns b/c they grow so fast. if you buy them from costco they have a box that is 1/2 newborn size and 1/2 size 1. perfect.
*cloth diapers - they are the best burp cloths
*onesies - just like the diapers only buy one or two packs of nb size and one or two packs of 3-6mos. and for baby clothes always check ross first. really nice/really cheap! :)
*baby socks. and they can also double as mittens so they don't scratch up their face.
Good luck mommy!

One thing for sure is wipes! haha I JUST had to buy my first thing of wipes since my daughter was born and she's 9 months old! It's beautiful, wipes are only 12 bucks for a decent size but still thats an extra 12 dollars every few weeks in the savings account!
