We have tried about 9 treatments of the hyperbaric chamber and are not too sure of what the success rate is. Dianni has been more alert cognitively but her mobility has not gained from the treatments. Has anyone else done HBO treatments? Any success or observations?

I meant "neurofeedback"...it's basically physiotherapy for the brain. If you google neurofeedback clinic vancouver, it will give you some more information. Thanks for the info!

The last I spoke to someone there, the study was in the works, not sure how far they have progressed. I called The Environmental Medicine and Biosciences dept @ 778-782 3782 then got passed around a couple of times. You can try that number and ask for someone who oversees the use of their hyperbaric chamber or anyone who is involved in research /studies with their chamber.
Also, what do you mean by the "biofeedback"?....

We haven't yet...my husband is more interested in the chambers and I am interested in the biofeedback. Where can we get info on the SFU study?

I did extensive research on it before taking her in, and reports range from very dramatic success to small improvements. But cognitive or intellectual improvements are mostly seen. HBO therapy seems like the only option for regenerating brain cells, so works best for brain injury but also for autism. The only problem is you never know if the child was going to progress on it's own or if you owe it to the treatment :0)

They always suggest agressive 20- 40 treatments in a row. But due to how costly ($200 a session) it is, we took the approach of slow and steady and take her for treatments when we can. I believe that cells will regenerate slowly and the outcome can be seen months if not weeks later, so giving time in between is a good thing to me.

We are going to try and recover some costs when we file our taxes (not sure yet if we can) , and try to get reimbursement from the At Home Program (again not sure if we qualify)...but SFU is starting a study on it and if your child qualifies the treatments are covered.

Was also wondering if the hyperbaric chamber helps. I've heard it takes alot of treatments to see any difference if at all. I also wonder about the bio-feedback. I just know that these treatments cost alot of money!
