So I have a 1 month year old, and she eats about 10 oz every feeding.
Shes on Similac the sensetive kind for gas ,Today I had to take her to the doctor because she was having diarrhea from hell. Like 9 diapers within 2 hours, and she was throwing up.When I go there the doctor said it was acid reflux, but also told me not to feed her no more than 6 oz.
I fed her 6 oz and shes still hungry,She keeps screaming because she is still hungry, Ive tried everything just to keep from feeding her,Laying her tummy to tummy on me and rubbing and patting her back, playingwit her legs because she likes it when i stretch them for her, sitting her up,rocking her, bathing her.. Anything because the doctor told me to,well none of that helped period. and she keeps attacking her pacifire like she is starving, but keeps spitting it out no matter how many times i put it back in her mouth,My grandmas pretty old school and told me to put the rice cereal in her milk. So I did that and it still doesnt stop her from wanting more than 6oz. Do I just let her scream? I hate doing that because I know shes hungry. And I really just want to give her 2 more oz but the doctor said shell start having health problems if I over feed her, anybody else have these problems? What did your doctor advise you? Is my doctor just ignorant.. I dont want to make her suffer.

Babies can't decifer the difference between stomach pains. To them it all means that they want to eat. Acid reflux can be quite painful, so she may be crying like she is hungry, but really it is from the acid reflux. Also, since she is having diarrhea along with the vomiting, she may have a stomach bug, or she may not be able to handle the formula. At this age, a lot of it is trial and error. If she has been on this formula for a while and the diarrhea just started, then I would guess she has a stomach bug. If she just started on this kind, then maybe she will need something that isn't based from cow's milk. Also, did the doctor give you medicine for the little one for the acid reflux? If not, you may want to give them a call and explain how your daughter is screaming after each bottle, and see if they would prescribe something for her. As far as the cereal in her bottle, please stop doing it. At that age their tummies aren't able to digest it properly, and you could cause her a lot more stomach pain.

Sorry I can't relate but I feel terrible for you! I would suggest maybe getting a second opinion on what could be wrong? Also, most hospitals have a weekly meeting for new moms! They are usually directed by a lactation consultant. Even if you are not breastfeeding, you could attend and maybe get some help. The lady who does it in our area, is very knowledgable about all baby eating habits and always has lots of info! Check your area :) Good luck :(
