Ok so my son is 14 months old and this past week or so has been throwing really bad Tantrums. he has been screaming really loud and hitting stuff almost acting really frustrated. I dont know if i should just ignore them or get onto him for doing it? He has also been hitting himself when he gets mad. Anyways I hope that someone can give me some advice on how to get him to stop doing all this

Hi Ashley, my name is Tammy and yes you can call that frustration. I guess it would be a bit frustrating knowing what you want but can't ask for it clearly or get it yourself. I taught my son some sign language and oh my goodness does that help. Even though he can not say the words yet he can tell me what he wants and that has helped cut down on the tantrums. My son is still going through a stage of throwing himself on the floor when he can't get what he wants so when he does this I walk over pick him up and hold him in a bear hug (not too tight but tight enough that he can't get out of my arms)until he calms down so he don't hurt himself. He finally gives up in my arms and lays his head on my shoulder. Then I can talk to him eye to eye and for him this works. Good luck:')
