A 2 month old is usually tired after about 1 hour of being awake. It can be as short as 45 minutes, 1.5 hours is the absolute max at that age. A 2 month old needs about 16-18 hours of sleep per day.

Enjoy the long nap periods while they last. At 4 months most babies switch to "cat napping" and do not sleep for longer than 45 minutes several times per day (until about 6-7 months old).

I would suggest that you are reading her sleepy signs just right.

I let my 2 month olds sleep when they wanted to and didn't really get them on a nap schedule until about 4 months. I just made sure to keep them awake in the evenings so they would sleep a little better at night. You might try reading "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" by Marc Weisbluth. It has a lot of great information about sleep and techniques on getting them to sleep.

My son is 13 months now and I'm sorry but I can't recall what his nap schedule was like when he was two months. I can tell you thins though...If you're putting her down and she's going to sleep then she needs it.I highly doubt she's napping TOO often. Babies need tons of sleep. It's when they do the majority of their growing.
