5 Month Old won't sleep once laid down

I have a 5 Month Old. She has GERD so I am very attentive to her sleeping. She used to sleep very well. Waking for a bottle and going right back to sleep. Within the last two weeks she wakes right back up when I try and lay her down. I end up holding her ALL NIGHT LONG!!

I also have a 6 year old with a small house so using the cry out method is not a option since my older daughter must get her sleep for school. I work full time so I don't have the option of working with the cry out method during the day.

I just don't see an end to this and I fear that I am "creating another monster". - I still sleep with my 6 year old. She won't have it any other way. I brought her into bed with me when she was an infant in order for me to get sleep and that never stopped. The last thing I want to do is to create another sleeping partner !

Any advice ??

This is what worked for my kids.
You get a bedtime routine and put them in their bed. Give them a kiss, say good night and leave.
Let her cry for 3 minutes, go in lay her back down and tell her good
night, I love you, it's time for bed then leave.
Wait 6 minutes (so you add 3 minutes on to the initial time) and if she's still crying, go in and lay her back down then say I love you goodnight and leave.
Let her cry for 9 minutes before going back in. Then lay her down say it's time for bed and leave.
The most I would go is 15 minutes. So if at 15 minutes she's still crying (which my kids never made it past 9 minutes) then wait 15 minutes before going back in.
My kids went to bed on their own the third night without any crying.
