6 Month old not sleeping well

I have a Six month old who during the day is not taking naps, and the days she does she only sleeps for about 30 minutes. At night she goes to bed between 730-8 and wakes up around 7am. I thought she should still be getting more sleep than that?

My daughter started doing that exact same thing at about 6 months, and not she is 8 months and once in a while will sleep for about 1 1/2 hours during the day, but usually just a half hour cat nap, but she is happy and healthy, and sleeps from 8 pm until I wake her up to get ready for the day at around 7is (i only wake her up because I go to school now and bring her to daycare). She is sleeping at night great, so I'm not too concerned.

Some kids just don't need naps. My youngest child, now 9 months old, just started taking naps now that he is crawling. He would have a 30 minute nap in the morning and again in the afternoon until he was about 7 months and learned how to crawl. My older child was the opposite and slept all the time. It just depends on the child.

She's getting 12 to 12.5 hours a day. Is she emotive, active, hitting her milestones? If she is, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe just bring it up at her next well-baby checkup. If she's not, then get her to the doctor to rule out something physiological and find out the approximate number of hours she should be getting total during a 24 hour period. Teething and introducing solids can cause strange things to happen, from more sleep to no sleep and gastric nightmares.

Basically, if she is her normal self, no worries.
