I experienced that at the start of my pregnancy, too. My OB suggested that I take my pre-natals before bed instead of in the morning, which did help. I also kept a little stash of saltines by my bed, which I ate 3-4 of before even standing up out of bed, and that helped. I also read that ginger and peppermint help with the nausea, and found it to be true, so I went to the grocery store and bought peppermint candies in bulk and carried them everywhere in my purse. They actually helped a LOT. Eating small amounts of food periodically throughout the day rather than 3 big meals will help, too. It's also good practice for when you are so far along that your stomach is getting smashed and you can only eat a bit at a time anyway. =)
If you get the book "What to Expect when You're Expecting", there are lots of good tips and tricks in there, too... for this and all issues related to pregnancy. I carried it with me even traveling when I was pregnant- it was like my pregnancy Bible!

I lost weight for the 1st 3 months of each of my 3 pregnancies, it's pretty normal to be nausiated and not hungry for a while.

I was like that with both of mine in the beginning and lost 8 pounds with my first in my first trimester and 16 with my second by the time I was 6 months along. My doctor said as long as I am taking my prenatal pill every night and eating when I do feel hungry then we are fine and there's no reason to worry because if baby needs something, they will take it from you and if they need more, you will start feeling hungry.

I'm 6 weeks along as well, but I've got the opposite going: I'm starving all the time! With my first baby, I wasn't very hungry at the beginning. Try grazing throughout the day, it will keep the sick feelings from getting too bad.

My doctor recommended that I drink Ensure and gave me a Rx for prenatals. Those you will want to take with food though as they will make you feel awful if you haven't eaten recently. I ate a lot of soups; veggie and egg drop (craving maybe?). Crackers helped. Keep your foods mild and healthy. Your baby will be fine and so will you if you just can't eat. I had days where the most I could manage was a bowl of cereal in the evening. Baby and I are just fine. You also don't need much more than what you would normally be eating just now anyway.

If the nausea is really intolerable, talk to your doctor about it. there are meds for this. Congrats and I hope you feel better soon.
