I'm a little confused about feeding my daughter cheese and yogurt. Her doc said to wait til she's one to give her cow's milk but cheese and yogurt is ok????? How old were your kids when they had their first taste of any cow's milk?

I used cows milk in the mash potato from 8 months old, baby yogurt from 6 months and grated cheese from 8 months as a finger food type of thing. www.raisingchildren.net.au
was a great source of information for me. Good luck

Yes you should wait until 12 months for cows milk, some dieticians even say 18mo. Cheese and yoghurt are processed/made differently and are digested differently by the body. Your doc was spot on with this advice.

i think my kids were about 8 months old when they had some cows milk. my 1st daughter started spitting up and it would smell really bed like sour milk, so i decided she wasnt ready. my 2nd child on the other hand, had no problems with a little cheese or yogurt. just watch for diarrhea, and stuff.

my daughters, all three of them, had their first taste of ice cream at 4or 5 months, GO WITH YOUR OWN MOTHERLY INSTINCT. But wait 3-5 day after added one to make sure no reaction just like when you add any new food.

Both my sons started cow's milk earlier then 1 year old. I think they both were around 11 months old. My doctor said that it was fine to do so. They are healthy and doing fine. I started them on cheese and yogurt when they were 1 years old though.

No second opinion. I thought I would see what some other moms had to say about this first.

that's a good question! I saw that the other day at the store they have yogurt juices and what not for crawlers. Have you gotten a 2nd opinion?
