I'm having a hard time finding things to do with my 14 month old. He plays just find by himself and I play with him as well, but I run out of things to do. Its hard to go to the park cuz there's not much around. If anyone has any ideas, i'm all ears.

I recently bought a roll of packing brown paper and I unroll it and cut a long piece and bring out the crayons. Once I let my kids lay on it and traced their whole body and let them draw their eyes and mouth and nose. It was fun and they stood drawing for a while they seemed to love it. Now from time to time I bring out the roll and cut a big piece and let them draw whatever they want. Seeing that your little one is 14 months maybe you can try finger painting on it, seeing that it's a large piece of paper with more room it'll make it twice the fun.

Thanks for the ideas, he really liked playing with the cheerios and making a big mess. it really kept him entertained and it gave us something to do. I'll try and do some of the other things with him as well. Thanks again for the ideas.

Im in the exact same boat. My daughter is 14months as well, is very active (she started walking at 9-10months) and gets bored easily. What sort of things do you do with your son? When outside I half fill a bucket with water and give her some jugs and stuff to play with. We experiment with what will float and what will sink. I make jelly and put some on the high chair tray for her to play with. She loves the feel of it and trying to pick it up and squeez it between her fingers (too interested playing to eat any). I do the same with ice and it keeps her occu[ied for a while. I have started giving her a pencil and paper so she can scribble. Hope some of that helps.

Hi, things that I do with my toddler is: messy play, eg. finger painting. ( it really is a big mess and my little one usually ends up with paint EVERYWHERE but he loves it), also a sand box with jugs, spoons, etc. We do singing and dancing games, and teach actions to nursery rhymes such as ring o ring o rosies and twinkle little star. Ball games keeps my one entertained for hours and also playing with balloons. Filling platic containers with different things, eg. uncooked rice in one, a teaspoon in another etc. and then shaking them to make music. Making play dough. I also do things like teaching him his body parts, and using different toys to teach shapes and colours. And we "clean" together, we each have a cloth and we dust or I fill a bucket with water snd give him plastic things to wash. I hope this helps..
