my son is 17 months old and i have a 4 week old baby girl. ever since she came home my son had become so much more hyper and mischievous. i think its because he gets bored more often now because i cant play with him like when he was the only one. ne advice on what i can do to make our days less chaotic?

I have a 3, 2, and 8 month old. It does get better. I think what worked the best for me was getting us all out of the house to the zoo, rec center, park, or where ever. The kids would work off energy and be too busy to get into trouble.

My son was 17 months old when my daughter was born and I had him help me out with getting nappies and wipes and picking out clothes for baby to wear or toys for her to look at.
When I was feeding her I would give my son a snack or drink and tuck him in under my other arm and read books, sing songs that sort of thing.

I know it's hard but we also used to get out every day to playgroup or the park so he could run around and wear himself out.

My son is 3 and a half at the end of September and my daughter turns 2 in a few weeks and it is still crazy.
It gets abit easier as you get the baby into a routine and you know when she will need feeding and sleeps and then you can plan activities both inside and outside the house around that.
It does also get abit easier the older they both get but I have found there is always something to keep you onn your toes with one of them.
On the up side, my 2 are the best of friends and play well together, they are very close at the moment and their new thing at the moment is every where we go they have to hold hands, very cute

I have a 2 yr old and a 3 mth old and have the same problem lol. I try and channel that energy into helping me with my younger one he gets me diapers, bottles and helps pick out his brother's clothes. He still is energetic but it helps also he loves to watch Dora and Diego so putting a movie on keeps him occupied for a lil bit. Hope this helps :)

thanks everyone. we're still trying to get adjusted. when do this not seem so crazy? when the baby gets older or the toddler?
