My 4 year daughter is currently at nursery, she started January 2011 but we're moving house on in about a week, and she is due to start back at school this Monday after the Christmas holidays. The School where we are moving to is ringing me back on that same day to see if they can get her in that nursery, but I don't know whether to send her back to her other school, I don't see the point in her going back to just get all settled with her old friends and then have to move schools not long after, but then I also understand that she needs to go to school and that she may or may not get a place at this new school. I just don't know what to do.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance x Jodie x

Where you live - is it a requirement for 4 years old to go to school? Or do you, for your own family logistics, need her in school every day? If neither, you might consider letting her stay at home if its a good possibility that she will transfer to the new school. But if she has to go, and she has to go to the old school for a few days, she may enjoy it just as a last chance to say "bye" to her friends. Good luck.

I'm not fully sure whether it's a requirement but the nursery nurse did say she needs to be in school so she doesn't get out of the routine. We''ll be moving hopefully next weekend so I think she will end up having to go back to her old school for a week, I just hope its not going to make it worse and hope it may make it easier for her like you said as she'll be able to say bye to her old friends x
