My 4 1/2 month old and I are going to be traveling by airplane in a week or so. Any suggestions for the I check her carseat and use an umbrella stroller or do I keep her carseat and just have them put it under the plane when we board??? Any other suggestions would be helpful...I do know to give her her pacifier taking off and landing.

do you need to take both car seat and stroller with you? If you only need the stroller it may be easier to check that and use a sling or other carry device so you can carry your baby. I travelled to thailand recently with my 3 month old and found it so easy to use a sling especially seen as we had to take two planes and were walking a lot around the airports. I agree with janine a bottle would be better for take off and landing. Im breastfeeding my lo and found it better for his ears to feed him, because the swallowing of the milk helps with that not just the sucking. good luck

Ok, I've been to Australia twice with little ones so I guess you could say I'm experienced. Firstly- depending on the place your going to you might want to just take your stroller and check in the car seat. I actually bought a GoGokids travel mate which is basically putting your carseat on wheels. Awesome invention but it was around $90 and if your not going too far or sitting in LA airport for hours you don't need that. I would highly suggest little toys new to your baby, and also have a bottle for take off and landing not just a pacifier (easier on the ears). Take plenty of snacks/diapers/wipes. A dvd player is also handy make sure its fully charged. Good Luck:)
