Wondering if any of you have experienced this... Our next baby is due in 2 months and son #1 is only eager for his baby brother's arrival. He is a content kid and we've been doing our best to prepare and reassure him (of our love) for the past 7 months. Nothing dramatic has "happened" that we can think of - but he's wet the bed every night for the past 4 nights. The only recent change in our household is that he and my husband have swapped beds (due to my husband's insomnia and my frequent bathroom trips and snoring) but that started 3 weeks ago and my son relishes sleeping in my bed with me. I've heard we should ask his Ped to rule out a UTI... but I was wondering if any other moms had an older sibling who started wetting the bed *before* the new baby came? What are your thoughts and suggestions?

This happened to me, my son who is now eight started wetting the bed out of the blue at the age of 5 just before Christmas r daughter had been born in the October so we new that her arrival had nothing to do with it. In the end we took him to the doctors and the suggested tablets or a alarm that goes off if a drop of wee touches it and wakes them up, They also told us that it can run in families (my brother wet the bed until he was 12). We decided not to opt for the tablets or the alarm and instead get him pajama pants (sort of like nappies but look like underpants) we didn't make a big deal of it never shouted, the pants made him feel a lot better and not all wound up in case he wet the bed. He now has grown out of it. i would take him the doc to rule out UTI and ask them for there advice.
