Am I being selfish?

Ok so this weekend we made plans to do something together bc I've been in the house for like 3weeks straight with the baby (besides grocery shopping) but I told him I need a break so ill find a baby sitter and we'll go out. So today he comes to me and says I need to do something this weekend go out with the guys or something, keep in mind he's been out with the guys for the past 2 weekends while I sit home with our baby. So I flipped out and said "I thought we had plans?!" And the he said "you're being selfish!" I mean how am I being selfish? I haven't complained or anything about him going out usually every weekend! I mean call me crazy but didn't we both have a baby?!

I don't think you are being selfish at all. Try putting it in context for him. Name the last few times he went out and then the last few times you went out. Also, I spin it around and tell him that more so than me needing time alone, he needs to spend time alone with his kid(s). It's super important for their development. That usually gets him.

Nope! I would calmly tell him that he can go out with his guys every other weekend, and you will go out with your girls every other weekend. That is even! See how he responds to that--it would be hard to argue with if he's honest with himself.

My husband & I have the agreement that he gets one weekend a month for the guys, I get one for the girls, and we take 2 together for a date.
