Am I being selfish towards my fiancé?

We've been together going on 3 years and we just welcomed our first baby two months ago. He works from 5am to 4pm & gets off weekends. When he comes home from work he'll help me bathe the baby & get his bottles ready. Well we go out as a family with our other friends almost every weekend which I don't mind but sometimes I would rather stay at home. & then there are these expos he wants to go to which are out of town, we went to one together a couple weeks ago but we went that same day & came back. He said he was going to the next one which is next month by himself but this time he's gonna be gone for a Friday, Saturday and be back Sunday. Honestly I'm a little upset because I feel like he should be at home, spending time with our FIRST son who will only be 3 months old. I feel upset because he's able to have "him" time but what about me? I have the baby 24/7....he goes go the gym 3 times a week for 2-3 hrs and I'm at home....I just don't think it's I being selfish? Don't get me wrong I LOVE my child but a break wouldn't hurt...

You ask what about your time, but have you actually had this discussion with him? Have you talked to him about getting some time out for yourself?

Not selfish at all julie, your entitled to just as much "me time" as the father and when he gets gym time and occasional trips. You should have your own designated time off. All men/dads seems to be this way, they go hunting , fishing, camping and we get to clean up after kids and our house the whole time. Maybe you could start planning for a father/son day for the two of them and give you a break once a week? My two daughters have "a girls day" every wednesday after school with their grandma, where i drop them off after school and pick them up after grandma feeds them dinner. Its only a few hours a week but TOTALLY HELPFUL to have even a few hours away. Your entitled to a break! every mom needs one : )
