Am I making my kids sick?

I have 3 (4yr, 3yr&1yr). It seems like every 3 mo. my 4yr old is sick. The other 2 don"t alway catch what ever he has. But as of late, all three have been passing around different bugs. The last several days is just a fever of 102degrees. for 3 days, no other symptoms. I am not perfect so i know i don't wash there hands as frequently as i guess i could. They are not in daycare. I try to disinfect surfaces, light switches, door handles &remotes once a month. I wash the almost every time they use them, when they are not in use they are in the fridge. I wash there hands before they eat and all the normal things.I don't think it's allergies since it goes away and it"s not always allergy symptoms. Do any of you have any suggestions on what else i can do? Or what the reasons could be.

Not all bugs are bad bugs.

Chances are, with the amount of cleaning you are doing (it does appear to be a lot), you are also killing the good bugs.

The average person needs a certain amount of bugs (good and bad) in their system in order to develop immunity without getting sick.

Unless they are allergic to something in particular, I would tone down the cleaning a bit. See how it goes?

How is their diet? Maybe try making sure they are getting lots of immune boosting foods, especially during the winter. Lots of dark green veggies and Vitamin C packed fruits. I know some kids are picky eaters but my girls love smoothies! It's easy to sneak in the dark green veggies because they don't even taste them :)

There have been a lot of bugs going around this year already. That could be contributing to it.Have you taken him to the doctor about this yet? My grandson would just seem to get over one when he would get another.I was disinfecting everything I could think of and it didn't seem to help.He ran a fever for about three days and I had to give him a combination of QPAP and ibuprofen. That was the only thing that would bring his fever down to an almost normal temperature for awhile before it would zoom back up.I spoke to the doctor though beforehand.

It's probably from over sterilizing the house. Some of it is germs in the air escaping outside. People don't realize that over sanitation is proven to cause illnesses. The reason is that 70% of all bacteria/viruses are either begnine or beneficial in fighting other dangerous germs. So if you kill them all off they will not be there to help.

My Daughter who is almost 11 still gets sick about every 3rd month. Viruses hit her the same way every single time. It has been this way since birth and she has never been to daycare- I have never left her with anyone. Always pretty much been home with me. Homeschooled and I clean constantly thinking it will help.

The doctors have just said she has a low immunity and she also has severe allergies and food intolerance on top of it-ugh. I keep lysol around to spray on doorknobs-etc.
