Well, this is an odd issue. I am high risk for pregnancy so after our second child ( I almost died) my husband got a vasectomy ( 1 1/2 years ago). He used to get a lot of pressure down there everytime we made love for about 6 months, and then it just went away.

The last two cycles I've had my period has been very light almost like a discharge with light pink and dark brown blood. I this third time around I haven't got it at all. I'm over a week late actually. I chalked it up to coming off the Depo shot which I was on to prepare myself for a surgery, as well as mood swings too. Lately I've been feeling "fluttering" which I thought was gas lol. But then the other night my husband said he was feeling that pressure again like before. My breasts were feeling fuller and sore so as I was prodding I noticed that I can squeeze what looks like colostrom out.

I've taken two pregnancy tests, one at home and the other at the docs and both were negative. But my doc has ordered blood work which I'll be getting done later today.

Just curious of others thoughts. Do you think it could just be hormones? What about the fluttering? Anyone else with a husband whose has a vasectomy and it reversed? I've met couples who that's happend to. Or am I just going crazy?

I had almost that same thing happen to me, I went in at 3 weeks and they did a blood test, my hcg was 17 and they told me I may or may not be pregnant. i wasn't, and my period came a week later as if I hadn't missed one. I am normally very regular.

I know it's hard, but give it time, you will find out one way or another.

Instead of a blood test or urine test, request an ultrasound. Some women will not show a positive on any testing until a few months (3-5). It has happened to several of my friends. That is one of the last ways to check.
I am high risk as well, and had positive tests, but HAVE to have ultrasounds around 6 wks to make sure that the heart is still developing, then about 10 wks for same reason. Normal 20 wk ultrasound and then I had one at 32/33 wks with my last 2 because of preterm labor symptoms. So, you might want to ask for one... Even if it is a false pregnancy, knowing for sure either way will help you out a lot! And, there are times when a Vasectomy isn't 100%, just like a Tubal Ligation.

I'm not trying to say this is just like you by any means but after my friend had her 3rd child she got her tubes tied and from the very beginning she regretted it and every month was convinced she was pregnant. Is there any way maybe you really want another child and are maybe hoping that the vasectomy fails? I have heard that when that is the case all kinds of weird stuff can happen like pregnancy symptoms and no pregnancy.

I guess you cant totally rule out a pregnancy for the reasons you mention, but just to let you know when I came off the depo nearly 8yrs ago now, it took at least twelve mnths for me to have any sort of cycle and its still not the same or as predictable as it used to be.
Around 6mnths ago my hormones went topsy turvy when moving + stressful events happened, and I had the same thing breasts were lumpy and producing fluid.
2mnths ago when I was actually 5wks pregnant breasts were enlarged but not producing fluid. So if yours bodies like mine my bets are its just hormones out of whack..if it doesnt get better over time start keeping a journal and see a gyno or endocrinologist.

Thanks girls you all have great ideas. I did think at one point it was over me regretting our hasty decision on a vasectomy. I was regular though throughout the course of the depo shot too, and was only on it for a few months. With all of these symotoms I'm wondering if it's just my body coming off the shot. But my breasts haven't been this full for 2 years. They actually look like breasts now! But last night it felt like I was going to get my period, I got very crampy and even had to use a heating pad. Then when I woke up this morning, all I had to show for it was a little tiny spot of old blood on my pad. What's with that!? So I'm just not very sure anymore. I might try to make an appointment with my doctor this thursday and see if I can get an ultrasound. Maybe I have a cyst or PCOS like my older sister? But my doc is out for the month due to farming. Maybe I should just take it as a sign that I'm not pregnant and I shouldn't be worried. I was thinking we should just send my husband for a semenalysis too, that would take less time than an U/S and cost the health care system less money lol. He could get it done easily, where as I think there is a much longer waiting period for and U/S.

Charity might be on to something - there have been many cases where women have convinced themselves that they were pregnant and were showing all the symptoms even a swollen preggy belly but no baby. Have you gotten a definate answer that you are comfortable with yet Erin?

I've taken a couple more pregnancy tests and both were negative. But now I'm 3 weeks late for my period. I am still feeling that twitching/fluttering movement every now and then. And now I have little yellowish bumps around my nipples. I'm getting really exhausted lately and getting nautious It just feels like I'm pregnant. If I'm not I just really wish my period would come so I don't feel like I'm crazy.

Well I got the blood test yesterday and the nurse read me my results. I have an HCG of 2.4 IU/L which means not pregnant. But I though we didn't produce that hormone unless we are, since it's triggered by the placenta. I've looked at a few sources and one said that 0-5 IU/L is not pregnant. And another source said 0-2 is not pregnant. Anyone had a HCG that was borderline like that before?
