Am I wrong?

My son is 29 months old and not potty trained. He shows no interest in it whatsoever and I think I will start trying next I waiting too long? Seems like everyone else has tried a lot sooner.......Thanks.

when he is ready, he is ready. It isn't something u can force and it becomes a negative experience when pushed. It also makes it sooo much easier on you when he is ready. It will seem like overnight he no longer needs diapers. I think by age 4 he should be pretty much done except maybe some nights.

Take a hurries. Don't compare your baby to any other child. He is special and unique being just himself:)

Christy - my 2nd little girl is exactly the same age - she is just like your son: TOTALLY not interested! My 1st took a while to train, too - when she was ready, it was a LOT easier! That's why I'm just talking about it with #2 & we sit on the potty occasionally, but I am waiting to watch for her cues! I wish I had done that with the first one! These other ladies who posted said some really great things, too!! Good luck!

No, if he is not inteseted then you will just be giving yourself a big headache forcing him to do something he does not want to do. My little one shows no interest in it either but I am trying one of those singing potty chairs just to atleast get her in the bathroom.

Take your time, unless you're in a hurry and want to get it done. I have five boys and the first 3 were potty trained around 3yrs old. My two year old isn't interested enough to sit on the potty. I just don't have the time to be bugging him all the time to sit on it, but I might have to get on him for it, because now he doesn't want me to change his diaper. Maybe I should start him. He does seem to know when he has to go. He hides to go poo. It would atleast cut us down to just one kid in diapers. We have an 8mos. old, too. If you're gonna start without him seeming to show interest you will probably need to have him sit on the potty every 2hrs or so. If he is dry thru the night that is a good sign to start him, too.

If hes not interested theres no point in starting. Some kids, especially boys don't train till much later. Starting before he's ready is just going to make the process much harder than it needs to be. Theres nothing wrong with introducing the potty to him but do not push him, he will let you know when he's ready.
